Defend Every Outlet, Protect Every Device

Surge protectors stand between your equipment and the voltage spikes that destroy electronics in a fraction of a second, whether the source is a lightning strike, utility grid fluctuation, or a compressor cycling on in the same building. Eaton, Belkin, CyberPower, and Kensington models range from compact desktop strips to high-joule rack-ready units with coaxial and network line protection. Browse the full UPS and power protection collection for battery backup systems, PDUs, and replacement batteries.

Surge Protectors for Every Environment

  • Office desks and workstations — multi-outlet Eaton and Kensington strips with wide spacing accommodate laptop chargers, monitor power bricks, and phone chargers without blocking adjacent outlets
  • Home theater and AV setups — models with coaxial and telephone line protection shield TVs, receivers, and streaming devices from surges entering through cable or antenna lines
  • Server rooms and network closets — rack-mountable CyberPower units with high joule ratings and LED status indicators integrate into standard 19-inch equipment racks
  • Point-of-sale and retail counters — compact strips that fit behind registers and protect payment terminals, receipt printers, and barcode scanners
  • Conference rooms and huddle spaces — under-table or furniture-clamp models provide clean power for presentation laptops, displays, and video conferencing hardware

Choosing the Right Surge Protector

Joule rating is the single most important specification: it measures how much surge energy the unit can absorb before its internal components wear out. Entry-level models rated between 600 and 1,000 joules work for lamps and phone chargers, mid-range units in the 2,000 to 3,000 joule range suit office workstations, and premium units rated above 3,000 joules from Eaton Protection Station and CyberPower Professional Series protect high-value equipment. Outlet count and cord length deserve equal attention: plan for at least two spare outlets beyond your current device count and measure the distance from the wall outlet to avoid daisy-chaining.

Form Factor and Diagnostic Features

Desktop strips work for most office and home theater applications. Wall-mountable units free up floor space in workshops and utility areas. Rack-mountable surge protectors in 1U horizontal or vertical zero-U form factors bolt directly into equipment racks alongside PDUs. Whichever form factor you choose, look for diagnostic LEDs that confirm protection is active, since a surge protector with depleted MOVs offers no more protection than an ordinary power strip. Widely spaced outlets and rotating outlet blocks, common on Belkin and Kensington models, prevent bulky transformer plugs from blocking neighboring ports.
