How It Works
Most of the time the SMC1500-2UC runs on utility power, using Automatic Voltage Regulation to correct sags, surges, and brownouts without touching the battery, which extends battery life. When the power actually drops, it switches to its internal battery and supplies pure sine wave output rated at 1440VA/900W. A SmartConnect Ethernet port adds cloud-based remote monitoring, firmware updates, and proactive email alerts, while PowerChute over USB or serial triggers a graceful, unattended shutdown of connected systems before the battery runs down.
