Ubiquiti UniFi Pro HD 24 PoE - 24-Port 2.5G Layer 3 Switch with Etherlighting and 600W PoE++
The Ubiquiti UniFi Pro HD 24 PoE (USW-PRO-HD-24-POE) is a 1U rack-mount Layer 3 managed switch with 22x 2.5 GbE PoE++ ports, 2x 10 GbE PoE++ ports, four 10G SFP+ uplinks, and a 600W total PoE budget. Every RJ45 port delivers PoE++ (802.3bt) at up to 2.5 Gbps or 10 Gbps, so WiFi 7 access points, multi-gig cameras, and high-draw PoE devices all get more than gigabit without separate power runs.
The Pro HD line is the multi-gig successor to the original UniFi Pro switches. Where the USW-Pro-24-PoE tops out at 1 GbE per port, the Pro HD 24 PoE delivers 2.5 GbE across 22 ports and 10 GbE on two more, with PoE++ on every port instead of splitting between PoE+ and PoE++. Etherlighting illuminates each port with color-coded LEDs indicating speed, link status, and native VLAN, making physical troubleshooting visible from across the room.
Where the Pro HD 24 PoE Fits
- Offices, campuses, and healthcare facilities deploying WiFi 7 access points that need 2.5 GbE uplinks and PoE++ power from the switch, with Layer 3 inter-VLAN routing handling voice, data, IoT, and security VLANs locally
- Multi-gig camera deployments where 4K and 8MP PoE cameras benefit from 2.5 Gbps backhaul and PoE++ power delivery without external injectors, all on a 600W budget that covers a full floor
- Server rooms and structured cabling closets where Etherlighting provides at-a-glance port identification, 10G SFP+ uplinks connect to the core or NAS, and DC power backup keeps the switch online during AC outages
What the Pro HD 24 PoE Delivers
- 22x 2.5 GbE + 2x 10 GbE, all PoE++: Every RJ45 port runs PoE++ (802.3bt). The 22 base ports deliver 2.5 Gbps each; the two 10 GbE ports handle high-bandwidth endpoints. 600W total PoE budget powers a full floor of APs, cameras, phones, and access controllers.
- 4x 10G SFP+ uplinks: Connect to a 10G core, aggregation switch, or NAS at wire speed. Four uplinks allow redundant paths or multiple downstream connections without bottlenecking aggregate traffic from 24 multi-gig clients.
- Layer 3 switching: Inter-VLAN routing, static routes, and DHCP server built into the switch hardware. Cross-VLAN traffic stays local instead of hairpinning through the gateway, reducing latency and offloading the firewall.
- Etherlighting: LED illumination on every port shows speed, link status, and native VLAN assignment in color. Identify which port maps to which device from across the rack without tracing cables or checking the dashboard.
- DC power backup ready: USP RPS input keeps the switch and its PoE devices online during AC power loss. In deployments with PoE cameras and access control, switch uptime is critical infrastructure.
