WiFi 7 In-Wall Access Point with 4 Spatial Streams, 4.3 Gbps Max Rate, Integrated 3-Port 2.5G Switch, and PoE Output
The Ubiquiti UniFi U7 In-Wall is a WiFi 7 access point designed to replace a standard wall plate with a flush-mount unit that combines dual-band wireless and a 3-port 2.5 GbE switch in one device. Four spatial streams across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz deliver up to 4.3 Gbps on 5 GHz (BW160) and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, covering 1,250 sq ft while supporting 200+ simultaneous clients. The integrated switch provides two wired 2.5G LAN ports for devices like IP phones, desktops, or cameras, with one port delivering PoE output to power a downstream device directly from the AP.
The U7-IW is the WiFi 7 upgrade to the U6 In-Wall, bringing higher throughput and 2.5G wired ports to the in-wall form factor. It mounts behind a standard wall plate, draws just 13W via PoE+, and connects wired and wireless devices without a separate access point and switch taking up shelf or ceiling space. Managed through UniFi Network, it supports PPSK, dynamic VLANs, guest portals, and fast roaming across multi-AP deployments.
Where the U7 In-Wall Fits
- Hotel rooms and dormitories where each room needs dedicated WiFi and wired ports for a phone or TV, and the AP mounts behind the wall plate to keep the installation invisible to guests
- Office cubicles and small meeting rooms where a ceiling AP would waste coverage on the hallway, and an in-wall unit provides focused 1,250 sq ft coverage plus wired ports for desk devices
- MDU and co-working spaces where each unit or suite gets its own SSID via PPSK, the PoE output port powers a VoIP phone or camera, and centralized UniFi management controls all APs from one dashboard
What the U7 In-Wall Delivers
- WiFi 7 dual-band with 4.3 Gbps peak: 5 GHz at 4.3 Gbps (BW160) and 2.4 GHz at 688 Mbps across 4 spatial streams with 2x2 MU-MIMO on each band. Supports 200+ concurrent clients without per-device throughput degradation.
- Integrated 3-port 2.5G switch: Three 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports built into the unit. One uplink with PoE+ input, two LAN ports for wired devices. Eliminates the need for a separate desktop switch in tight spaces.
- PoE passthrough output: One LAN port provides PoE output to power a downstream device when the AP is fed via PoE+. Power a VoIP phone, camera, or secondary AP from the same wall plate location.
- 1,250 sq ft coverage from the wall: Designed for room-level deployment rather than open-floor coverage. Mount behind a wall plate at desk height for focused, high-density coverage in the space where clients actually sit.
- Flush-mount wall plate form factor: 137 x 99 x 30 mm installs behind a standard wall plate with the included metal bracket. No ceiling mount, no shelf space, no visible antennas. 400g total weight.
