What Makes This the Pro Model?
Three things separate this switch from a standard 24-port UniFi PoE unit, and all three matter at the closet rather than the desk. First, it operates at Layer 3, so routing between VLANs can be handled locally instead of sending every cross-segment packet back to a gateway. Second, the uplinks are 10 Gigabit SFP+ rather than gigabit, which stops the switch itself from becoming the constraint once two dozen powered devices are active. Third, eight of the twenty-four ports deliver PoE++ rather than PoE+, which is what higher-draw hardware needs.
