Digital Signage Displays Buying Guide
Digital signage displays do a different job than the TV in your living room. They stay on from open to close, sometimes around the clock, and they have to look sharp whether they hang behind a counter, greet visitors in a lobby, or post the day's menu. Commercial signage displays are built for that kind of use, with longer rated run times and built-in media players that play your content without an extra box hidden behind the screen.
Matching a Screen to the Job
If your digital signage screen shuts off at night, a display rated for 16 or 18 hours a day will do the job. For a screen that never goes dark, like a 24 hour store or a hospital waiting room, choose one rated for 24/7 use.
A standard indoor commercial display is plenty for an office or restaurant. A screen facing a storefront window or sitting outdoors needs a high-brightness model to stay readable in daylight.
Check that your signage software supports the display's built-in platform before you buy. If people will be tapping the screen for directions, ordering, or meetings, browse our interactive displays and whiteboards.
Signage Displays by Brand
Each manufacturer approaches commercial digital signage a little differently. LG and Samsung offer displays with their own built-in platforms, webOS and Tizen. Philips, ViewSonic, and Hisense offer Android-based models that work with a wide range of signage apps. Sharp's PN series includes professional displays rated for 18 and 24 hours of operation a day.
Finishing the Install
Every digital signage display needs a secure mount and a reliable signal path. Our TV wall mounts and ceiling mounts collections cover wall and ceiling installs, and video cables has the HDMI and DisplayPort runs to connect your player or source.
