Gen12 Bulk Storage With Twelve Large-Form-Factor Bays
The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen12 (P89993-005) is configured for capacity on HPE's newest server generation, pairing a 12-core Intel Xeon 6505P and 64 GB of DDR5 with 16 TB of 7200 RPM SAS storage across a twelve-bay large form factor chassis. It is built to hold a lot of data affordably while keeping current-generation compute and expansion. Compare it across the HPE range and other Servers.
Twelve hot-swap 3.5" LFF bays leave room to grow far beyond the two drives installed, and up to eight PCIe Gen5 slots plus a second socket give the platform a long runway for storage controllers, networking, and compute.
Ideal Deployments
- Backup, archive, and file servers that prize capacity over flash latency
- Media, surveillance, and data-lake workloads needing many large drives
- Current-generation builds that will scale into the full twelve-bay chassis
What It Delivers
- 16 TB of 7200 RPM SAS HDD (two 8 TB drives) on an MR416i-o controller with RAID.
- Intel Xeon 6505P: 12 cores at 2.20 GHz, 48 MB cache, second socket open.
- 64 GB DDR5 ECC across 32 slots, expandable to 8 TB.
- Twelve hot-swap 3.5" LFF bays and up to eight PCIe Gen5 slots in a 2U chassis.
