RBVS Retrofit Ball Valve Switch
The RBVS is a retrofit switch designed to monitor the open or closed position of ball valves in fire sprinkler systems, as well as the coil position on solenoids used in preaction and deluge systems. Ideal for backflow preventers and trim lines on dry, alarm, and deluge valves, this compact unit reliably detects changes when the valve handle moves from its normal position.
Its spring-loaded actuator makes contact with the valve handle when positioned correctly. If the handle moves, the actuator extends and the internal switch changes state—opening or closing an electrical circuit. This enables fast and accurate detection without tracking the exact angle of the handle or ball.
Key Features:
✔ Monitors open/closed status of ball valves
✔ Compatible with solenoid coils on preaction and deluge systems
✔ Spring-loaded plunger actuator for accurate triggering
✔ Detects handle movement without tracking position
✔ Ideal for retrofitting backflow preventers and alarm trim lines
✔ Compact and reliable design for fire protection systems
Ideal For:
Fire safety contractors, inspectors, and building system managers looking for a simple retrofit solution to monitor ball valve status in sprinkler and suppression systems.
Why Choose This:
The RBVS makes it easy to add reliable position monitoring to existing ball valves without major modifications—improving system oversight and safety compliance.
