Compact NFC and Mobile Credential Reader for UniFi Access Door Control
The Ubiquiti UA-G2 is the second-generation UniFi Access reader that mounts outside a door and handles NFC card taps, mobile credentials via Bluetooth, and request-to-exit (REX) sensing. It connects to a UniFi Access Hub over standard Ethernet and is managed through the same UniFi Access dashboard that controls door locks, schedules, and user permissions across every entry point in the building.
The G2 Reader is the standard-function reader in the UniFi Access lineup. If you need a reader with a built-in keypad and intercom camera, that is the G2 Reader Pro. For basic card-tap and mobile-unlock at doors that do not need those extras, the UA-G2 keeps the installation clean and the cost down.
Where the UA-G2 Fits
- Office and commercial entries where employees tap an NFC card or unlock with their phone to enter, managed through UniFi Access schedules and permissions
- Multi-door deployments where each door gets a reader and all readers report to a central UniFi Access Hub for unified access logs and policy management
- Indoor or outdoor doorways where a compact, weather-rated reader mounts beside the door frame and handles NFC, BLE, and exit sensing in one device
What the Reader Delivers
- NFC and Bluetooth credentials: Reads UniFi Access NFC cards and key fobs, plus mobile credentials via Bluetooth for phone-based unlock without a physical card.
- Request-to-exit (REX) sensor: Built-in proximity sensor detects when someone approaches the door from the inside, triggering an automatic unlock without a card tap.
- Connects to UniFi Access Hub: Wired connection to the UA Hub over Ethernet. Managed through UniFi Access for door schedules, user groups, and access logs.
- Compact form factor: Mounts beside any standard door frame. Clean, low-profile design with LED status indicator and integrated piezo speaker for tap feedback.
