Processing Hub That Powers and Connects AI Theta Camera Lenses to UniFi Protect
The Ubiquiti UniFi AI Theta Hub is the base processing unit in the modular AI Theta camera system. It accepts one or two AI Theta lens modules, provides PoE power, handles on-device AI processing for person and vehicle detection, and connects the lenses to the UniFi Protect platform over a single Ethernet cable.
The AI Theta system separates the lens from the processor so each component can mount independently. The Hub mounts behind a wall, above a ceiling tile, or in any concealed location, while the compact lens module mounts visibly in the monitored space. This two-piece approach allows discreet surveillance in environments where a traditional camera body is too conspicuous. The Hub supports up to two lens modules simultaneously for dual-view coverage from a single network drop.
Where the AI Theta Hub Fits
- Luxury retail, hotels, and corporate lobbies where only the tiny lens module is visible and the processing hardware hides behind the wall or ceiling
- Dual-coverage installations where two lens modules (different angles or focal lengths) connect to one Hub, reducing cable runs and switch port usage
- Modular upgrades where the Hub remains in place and lens modules can be swapped or added later without re-cabling
What the AI Theta Hub Delivers
- Connects up to 2 AI Theta lenses: Supports two lens modules simultaneously for dual-angle or dual-focal-length coverage from a single PoE drop.
- On-device AI processing: Runs person and vehicle detection locally on the Hub without cloud dependency or additional NVR processing load.
- PoE powered, single cable: One Ethernet cable from a PoE switch powers the Hub and both connected lenses. No separate power supply needed.
- Concealed mounting: Mounts behind walls, above ceiling tiles, or in junction boxes. Only the lens modules are visible in the monitored space.
- UniFi Protect integration: Managed through UniFi Protect alongside all other UniFi cameras. Full recording, alerts, and playback through the same interface.
