Weatherproof 5-Port PoE Switch That Mounts Anywhere and Powers Devices Without a Local Outlet
The Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Flex (USW-Flex) is a 5-port Gigabit managed switch with four PoE output ports and IP55 weatherproofing for indoor or outdoor deployment. When powered by a PoE++ (802.3bt) source, it delivers up to 46W of PoE budget across its four output ports, powering access points, cameras, and intercoms at remote locations where no AC outlet exists. Mount it on a pole, wall, ceiling, or desk and feed it a single Ethernet cable from the upstream switch.
The Flex solves the common problem of getting network and power to locations far from the closet. Instead of running four cables to a camera cluster on a pole, run one PoE++ cable to a Flex mounted at the pole and branch out to four devices from there. The IP55 housing means it handles rain, dust, and temperature swings without a separate enclosure (or pair it with the Flex Utility mount for fully sealed outdoor installs).

What the USW-Flex Delivers
- 5x Gigabit ports (1 in, 4 out PoE): Port 1 accepts PoE++ input from the upstream switch or injector. Ports 2-5 output 802.3af PoE to connected devices. 46W total PoE budget when fed by 802.3bt.
- IP55 weatherproof: Rated for outdoor mounting without an enclosure. Handles rain, dust, humidity, and temperature extremes. Pair with the Flex Utility mount for fully sealed installations in exposed locations.
- No local power required: The switch itself is PoE powered. One Ethernet cable from the upstream source provides both data backhaul and power to the Flex and its connected devices. No outlet, no power brick, no electrician.

USW-Flex vs USW-Flex-Mini
The Flex Mini is smaller and cheaper but has no PoE output, no weatherproofing, and powers only via USB-C or PoE input (no passthrough to connected devices). The USW-Flex is the right choice when you need to power downstream PoE devices, mount outdoors, or install at a location without an AC outlet. The Flex Mini is for indoor desk-side use where all connected devices have their own power source.
