Full-Room Conference Audio Over a Single Network Cable
Wiring a room for good conference audio has traditionally meant either a cluttered tabletop of microphones and cabling or an expensive custom ceiling install. The Vaddio EasyIP CeilingMIC D (999-85820-000) replaces both with a plug-and-play overhead microphone that goes in on one Cat-5e run: a single cable from a PoE switch port carries power, control, and Dante networked audio to the mic. Three cardioid elements in one pendant give full 360-degree coverage of the table, and per-element echo cancellation keeps calls clean on both ends. How It Installs
Installation is deliberately simple. Connect a Cat-5e cable between a PoE port on your network switch and the CeilingMIC D receiver, and power, control, and audio all travel over that one cable, so there is no separate power supply or audio home run to pull. The pendant hangs from a 3-foot adjustable drop cable and, through its standard RJ45 connection, can be extended to a total of 15 feet from the interface box to reach the right height in drop-tile or open ceilings. Routing and configuration happen in software: manage the microphone with free Dante Controller and fine-tune its DSP with Vaddio's desktop configuration tool. When a larger room needs more coverage, add units, since the microphone count is limited only by available network switch ports.
