Tower Coolers, AIO Liquid Coolers, and Case Fans for Every Build
Cooling and fan solutions keep every component running at peak performance and full lifespan. Tower CPU coolers, all-in-one liquid coolers, case fans, and custom-loop components from Thermaltake, Cooler Master, and Fractal Design cover everything from silent office builds to overclocked gaming rigs pushing maximum thermal output. Browse all component categories in the full PC Components collection.
Cooling & Fans for Every Build
- Overclocked gaming desktops — 360mm AIO liquid coolers from Thermaltake and Cooler Master tame high-TDP Ryzen 9 and Core i9 processors under sustained all-core boost loads
- Silent office and HTPC builds — tower coolers with large fin stacks and low-RPM fans from Fractal Design deliver passive-like noise levels for quiet work environments
- Compact SFF systems — low-profile coolers and slim 120mm fans fit tight ITX cases while maintaining adequate airflow for mid-range processors
- Workstation and rendering rigs — dual-tower coolers and 280mm AIOs handle sustained thermal loads from professional workloads that keep CPUs at 100% for hours
- RGB and showcase builds — Thermaltake and Cooler Master ARGB fan packs with software-controlled lighting effects add visual flair while maintaining practical airflow
Choosing the Right Cooling Solution
The choice between air and liquid cooling depends on CPU TDP, case dimensions, noise tolerance, and aesthetic preference. Tower air coolers are reliable, maintenance-free, and cost-effective for most processors up to 150W TDP. All-in-one liquid coolers provide superior cooling for high-TDP chips and overclocking while fitting cases where tall tower coolers would interfere with RAM clearance. Case fans complete the cooling system by providing intake and exhaust airflow that keeps the entire chassis, including GPU, VRM, and storage, at safe operating temperatures.
Air vs Liquid Cooling
Tower air coolers use direct-contact heatpipes and large aluminum fin arrays to dissipate heat passively, with fans running at low RPMs for quiet operation. They have no pumps, no fluid, and no failure points beyond the fan itself. AIO liquid coolers circulate coolant through a cold plate on the CPU to a radiator mounted on the case, offering higher peak cooling capacity in a thinner profile. 240mm AIOs match the performance of large tower coolers, while 280mm and 360mm radiators exceed what air cooling can achieve, making them necessary for overclocked Ryzen 9, Core i9, and Threadripper processors.
Complete Your Build
- Processors — match your cooler to your CPU's TDP and socket type
- Computer Cases — verify cooler height clearance and radiator mount support
- Motherboards — socket compatibility and fan header availability
- Power Supplies — adequate wattage for the complete thermal envelope
- RAM & Memory — check cooler clearance for tall RAM heatspreaders
