UniFi Access Points: Scalable WiFi Without Licensing Fees
UniFi access points from Ubiquiti deliver enterprise-class WiFi with zero subscription fees. Every access point integrates with the UniFi Controller for centralized management, guest portals, RF optimization, and network analytics.
Best for: Businesses, schools, and hospitality venues deploying scalable WiFi coverage managed from a single UniFi Controller with no recurring license costs.
How to Choose the Right UniFi Access Point
What WiFi standard do you need?
WiFi 6 (U6 series) is the current mainstream standard with excellent multi-device performance. WiFi 7 (U7 series) is the latest generation with 320 MHz channels, multi-link operation, and the highest throughput. Choose WiFi 7 for new deployments that need maximum performance and longevity.
Indoor, outdoor, or in-wall?
Ceiling-mount APs (U6 Pro, U7 Pro) cover open offices and classrooms. In-wall APs (U6 Enterprise IW) replace a wall plate and add wired switch ports behind the AP. Outdoor APs (U7 Pro Outdoor) use weatherproof enclosures and directional antennas for parking lots and courtyards. Browse by environment: Indoor Access Points | Outdoor Access Points
How many clients will connect?
Standard APs handle 100-200 concurrent clients. Enterprise APs (U6 Enterprise, E7) support 500+ clients with dedicated radios and higher processing power for high-density venues like conference halls and stadiums.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do UniFi access points require a subscription?
No. UniFi access points have no recurring licensing fees. All management features including the UniFi Controller, guest portal, RF optimization, and network analytics are included at no additional cost.
How are UniFi access points powered?
UniFi access points are powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet). You need a PoE switch or PoE injector to provide power through the ethernet cable. Most models require 802.3at (PoE+) at 30W. Check each model's specifications for exact PoE requirements.
Can I mix different UniFi access point models on the same network?
Yes. You can run WiFi 6 and WiFi 7 access points on the same UniFi Controller. The controller manages all models from a single interface. Clients will connect to the nearest AP with the best signal automatically through band steering and roaming optimization.
