Poly Phones Buying Guide

Poly phones are business desk and conference phones from Poly, the brand that brought Polycom and Plantronics together and is now part of HP. The lineup covers Edge E and VVX desk phones, CCX business media phones, and Trio conference phones. To compare other brands, see all of our IP phones.

Edge E Desk Phones

Edge E phones have a color display, Poly noise reduction technology, and a PoE port, so one network cable carries both data and power. Line capacity grows with the model. The E100 handles up to 8 lines and contacts, the E220 up to 16, E300 and E400 series models up to 32, and the E550 up to 48, with a 5-inch main screen and two displays in all. Bluetooth models pair with wireless headsets, and the E350, E450, and E550 add Wi-Fi.

CCX Business Media Phones

CCX phones come in Microsoft Teams editions, and the CCX 505 also comes in an Open SIP version for SIP phone systems. The CCX 350 keeps a non-touch screen, and the CCX 600 has a 7-inch color multi-touch display. CCX 505 and CCX 600 models have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in, and the CCX 350, 505, and 600 use Poly Acoustic Fence technology to cut background noise on calls.

VVX Desk Phones

VVX phones are the desk phone line Poly carried over from Polycom. The VVX 250 is a 4-line phone with a color display, and the VVX 350 is a 6-line phone with a 3.5-inch color display and two gigabit Ethernet ports. Both run on PoE.

Trio Conference Phones

Trio phones connect everyone in a meeting room to one call, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and PoE built in. The Trio 8300 picks up voices up to 12 feet away. The Trio C60 scales to bigger meetings with optional expansion microphones or by daisy chaining multiple units. It comes in a Microsoft Teams edition and in a version that connects to multiple SIP and cloud calling services at once.

Headsets and Power

Edge E phones take a headset over USB, RJ9, or an electronic hook switch, and Bluetooth models also pair wirelessly. Browse Poly and other brands in our headsets collection. A PoE switch powers these phones over their network cable, so they don't need a separate power adapter at each desk.

Poly Phone FAQs

Is Poly owned by HP?

Yes. HP acquired Poly in 2022, which is why these phones are listed under HP. Poly itself was formed when Plantronics and Polycom combined, so older VVX and Trio models were sold under the Polycom name.

Do Poly phones work with Microsoft Teams?

Yes, with the right model. CCX phones come in Microsoft Teams editions, and so does the Trio C60.

Do Poly phones need a power adapter?

Not if you have PoE. Edge E, CCX, VVX, and Trio phones support PoE, so they can take power from a PoE switch over their network cable.
