The Black Box Emerald EMD200DP-T is a ZeroU KVM-over-IP transmitter that connects a single DisplayPort source, keyboard, and mouse to the network, so the actual PC or server can stay locked away in a data center while the user works from anywhere on the LAN. How It Works
The transmitter attaches to a source computer's DisplayPort and USB, encodes visually lossless HD video up to 1920 x 1200, and streams it with keyboard, mouse, and embedded audio over a standard TCP/IP network to an Emerald SE receiver at the user's desk, up to 328 feet away. It needs under 40 Mbps for 1080p, so it coexists with other traffic, and Share mode lets several receivers view one source at once. Central management runs through Black Box's Boxilla KVM Manager, and the unit draws power over USB, so it adds no extra cabling.
