Service or Swap Your UPS Without Ever Dropping the Load

The CyberPower MBP63A2 is a maintenance bypass PDU that lets you take a UPS offline for service, battery replacement, or a full swap while connected equipment keeps running on utility power. Built for datacenters and other electrically demanding sites, it delivers 208V through NEMA L6-20R, L6-30R, and hardwire terminal block outputs and is rated for 63A input. How It Works

The MBP63A2 sits between utility power and your UPS. In Normal mode, connected equipment runs through the UPS for full battery protection. Flip the front switch to Bypass and the load transfers seamlessly to utility power, so you can power down, service, or replace the UPS without interruption. Front-panel LEDs show which source is live: green for Normal, red for Bypass. A 3.3-foot L6-30P cord feeds the UPS output and an L6-30R cord returns UPS input, with conduits and internal wiring for hardwired connections.

Highlights

  • 208V output, 63A input: handles high-capacity UPS loads in demanding electrical environments.
  • Three output types: one NEMA L6-20R, one NEMA L6-30R, and one hardwire terminal block for flexible connections.
  • 2U form factor: mounts horizontally or vertically in a standard server rack, on a wall, or in a tower.
  • Rugged industrial-grade metal housing, UL and RoHS compliant, backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
  • Front-panel switch and LED status indicators for clear, at-a-glance operation.

When Should You Use a Maintenance Bypass?

Use a maintenance bypass whenever a UPS needs attention but the equipment it protects cannot go dark. Common cases include replacing aging batteries, applying firmware or hardware service, and installing or retiring a UPS. Because the MBP63A2 shifts the load to utility power first, technicians can work on the UPS safely while servers, storage, and network gear stay powered.
