Keep the Rack Running Through Brownouts, Not Just Blackouts
Most of what a rack actually sees is not a blackout. It is sags and surges, and a basic battery backup answers those by dropping to battery and burning runtime on problems the utility sorts out by itself. The SmartPro SMART1000RM2U regulates input anywhere from 83V to 147V back to a 120V nominal output without touching the cells, so the battery is still full when a real outage arrives. Deployment Notes
The unit occupies 2U of an EIA-standard 19-inch rack and ships with the four-post mounting hardware; an optional 2POSTRMKITWM accessory covers wall and two-post installs, and the front LCD rotates so it stays readable whether the chassis sits in a rack or on its side as a tower. Four of the six outlets sit on two switchable load banks, which means a hung device can be power-cycled remotely and nonessential loads can be shed to stretch runtime. Management is flexible rather than fixed: USB and DB9 ports drive the free PowerAlert software for unattended shutdown, an EPO port ties into facility-wide emergency shutdown, and the bay accepts a TLNETCARD, WEBCARDLX, or SNMPWEBCARD when the UPS needs to report over the network.
