One Rack Unit Instead of a Mixer, an Amp, and a Transformer
Picture a cafe with ceiling speakers overhead, a paging mic behind the counter, and a music player in the back office. The usual answer is a small mixer, a separate amplifier, and a 70V transformer stacked in a closet. How It Works
Four inputs, balanced mic and line plus unbalanced RCA, mix down to a single amplified output. Crown DriveCore amplification does the heavy lifting, which is what keeps the chassis fanless and down to a single rack space while drawing only 40 watts in operation. On the output side it drives 8 ohm and 4 ohm loads directly and feeds 70V and 100V distributed speaker lines without a separate transformer in the signal path. Everything an operator touches sits on the front panel: a volume control per input, master volume, bass and treble, and a power switch, each ring illuminated so levels stay readable in a dim room. RJ45 connectors on the rear accept JBL CSR-V in-wall volume controls when a room needs its own local level adjustment.
