Universal Electric Door Strike with 2,000-lb Jaw Strength, Field-Selectable Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure Operation, Dual 12/24VDC Voltage, Three Interchangeable Faceplates, and UL 294/1034 Listing for Wood, Metal, and Aluminum Door Frames
The Seco-Larm SD-996C-NUQ is a universal electric door strike with 2,000-lb jaw strength and field-selectable fail-safe or fail-secure operation for wood, metal, and aluminum door frames. The SD-996C-NUQ operates on 12 or 24VDC, includes three interchangeable faceplates for different frame types, and is UL 294 and UL 1034 listed for security and safety applications.
The reversible non-handed design with three included faceplates eliminates the need to stock separate strikes for wood, hollow metal, and aluminum frames. The low-profile 1-1/4-inch depth fits narrow aluminum frames, and the field-selectable fail-safe or fail-secure configuration adapts to any access control requirement without replacing the strike body.
Where the SD-996C-NUQ Fits
- Commercial access control on mixed door frame types where the three interchangeable faceplates cover wood, hollow metal, and aluminum frames from a single SKU, the reversible non-handed design fits left- or right-hand doors, and the 2,000-lb jaw strength meets high-security requirements for offices, schools, and government buildings
- Installations requiring fail-safe or fail-secure flexibility where the field-selectable operation switches between fail-safe and fail-secure modes without replacing the strike body, the dual 12 or 24VDC voltage accommodates different power supply configurations, and the UL 294 and UL 1034 listing satisfies code and insurance requirements
- Narrow aluminum storefront frames and low-profile applications where the 1-1/4-inch strike depth fits frames that cannot accommodate deeper strike bodies, the aluminum faceplate measuring 4-7/8 x 1-1/4 inches mounts flush in standard ANSI preparations, and the 280mA at 12VDC or 140mA at 24VDC draw runs on existing access control power supplies
What the SD-996C-NUQ Delivers
- 2,000-lb Jaw Strength: Tested holding force of 2,000 pounds secures the door against forced entry in high-security commercial and institutional applications. The UL 294 and UL 1034 listings certify the strike for access control and safety applications.
- Field-Selectable Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure: Switch between fail-safe (unlocks on power loss) and fail-secure (locks on power loss) operation in the field without replacing hardware. The dual 12 or 24VDC voltage with 280mA at 12VDC and 140mA at 24VDC draw connects to standard access control power supplies.
- Three Interchangeable Faceplates: Included faceplates for wood frames (7-15/16 x 1-7/16 inches), hollow metal frames (4-7/8 x 1-1/4 inches), and aluminum frames (4-7/8 x 1-1/4 inches) cover the most common commercial door types from a single product.
- Reversible Low-Profile Design: The non-handed design installs on left- or right-hand doors without modification. The 1-1/4-inch strike depth fits narrow aluminum storefront frames and standard wood and metal ANSI preparations.
