5-Channel Analog Master Station with Selective Calling, All Call Capability, and Hands-Free Response for Mid-Size Intercom Systems
The Aiphone LEF-5C is a 5-channel analog master station that supports up to 6 intermixable stations, including additional masters, sub stations, and door stations on the same system. Each of the 5 call buttons connects to a specific station for selective calling, and the master operator uses press-to-talk communication while the called station responds hands-free. When paired with the optional BG-10C exchange unit, the LEF-5C gains All Call paging across every connected station and background music distribution throughout the system. The LEF-5C fits building security and internal communication systems where mid-size coverage needs dedicated intercom channels without IP networking infrastructure.
The LEF-5C runs on 12V DC power and connects to each station with a multi-conductor wire run that reaches up to 650 feet on 22 AWG cable or 1,600 feet on 18 AWG cable. An occupied LED on the front panel shows when the talk path is in use, preventing other operators from interrupting an active conversation. The 5-channel layout sits between the compact 3-channel LEF-3C and the full 10-channel LEF-10C, making it the right fit for installations that need more than 3 zones but do not require the full 10-button capacity of the top-end model.

- Press-to-talk master with hands-free response: The master operator presses and holds the call button to talk, then releases to listen. The receiving station responds hands-free without pressing any button, keeping the conversation natural at the remote end.
- Long-distance wiring up to 1,600 feet: Standard 22 AWG cable reaches 650 feet between stations, and 18 AWG cable extends the run to 1,600 feet. The multi-conductor wiring scheme uses 5 common wires plus one individual wire per station.
- Selective monitoring and door release: The master station can silently monitor any connected station for security or safety checks. The optional door release function triggers an electric strike or magnetic lock at door stations equipped with the release relay.
