A digital signage player is the small appliance that sits behind the screen and does one job: pull content, decode it, and put it on the display without drifting, crashing, or needing a person to touch it. How It Works
Content is delivered to the player over the RJ-45 Ethernet port or loaded via USB, then decoded and sent out over HDMI to the attached display. Because the unit draws Power over Ethernet, a single run of cable can carry both the content and the power to a screen position, which removes the need for an outlet behind every display. Where a local supply is preferred, the player accepts 12 V DC instead.
Deployment Notes
- The chassis measures 9.4 by 7.3 by 0.8 inches and weighs 1.5 lb, so it mounts behind a panel or inside a fixture rather than occupying rack space.
- Operating range runs from 14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, which covers unconditioned back-of-house spaces, vestibules, and enclosed display housings.
- Serial and USB connections are available for peripheral control and local media, alongside the network port.
