Power 24 Devices Over the Cables That Already Carry Data
Wireless access points, IP cameras, and desk phones all need power, and running a separate outlet to each one is slow and expensive. The Cisco Catalyst C1200-24FP-4G delivers power and data over the same Ethernet cable on all 24 ports, with a 375W budget and Layer 3 management for a small or medium business network. How It Works
Every one of the 24 Gigabit ports supplies PoE and PoE+ (802.3af/at), so the switch can power devices at up to 30W each within a shared 375W budget, no power bricks or nearby outlets required. Four Gigabit SFP slots handle fiber or copper uplinks to the rest of the network, and Layer 3 support lets the switch route between VLANs on its own. You manage it through the Cisco Business mobile app or dashboard, running on a customized Linux OS with the security and monitoring a business network needs.
Highlights
- 24 Gigabit Full PoE ports: every port delivers PoE/PoE+ from a 375W budget for APs, cameras, and phones.
- 4 Gigabit SFP uplinks: fiber or copper links to your core or distribution switches.
- Layer 3 managed: static and inter-VLAN routing, plus stacking to grow the network.
- Managed from the Cisco Business app or dashboard, with enterprise-class security features built in.
- A rack-mountable 1U chassis, tested for easy integration into small and medium business networks.
1G or 10G uplinks: which C1200-24FP fits?
This is the 4G model, with four 1 Gigabit SFP uplinks, which is plenty when the switch connects to a gigabit core or serves a single wiring closet. If your uplinks need more headroom, the companion C1200-24FP-4X uses four 10G SFP+ slots for higher-bandwidth aggregation. Both carry the same 24 Full PoE ports and 375W budget, so the choice comes down to how much uplink bandwidth the rest of your network expects.
