Mix, Amplify, and Distribute Store Audio From One Rack Unit
In a retail store, restaurant, or gym, background music and paging announcements usually run through a single box at the back of the rack. The JBL Commercial VMA1240 is a mixer/amplifier that blends up to four audio sources and drives one 240W zone, sending clean sound to speakers throughout the space. Ideal Deployments
- Retail floors, restaurants, cafes, and gyms running background music with paging.
- Houses of worship, offices, and lobbies that need even, low-maintenance sound.
- Distributed 70V or 100V speaker lines that span a large area from one amplifier.
- Installs where a commercial integrator wants mixing and amplification in a single 2U unit.
What It Delivers
- 240W RMS, single zone: enough power to drive a full room or a run of ceiling and surface speakers.
- Four analog inputs: mix music sources, microphones, and paging into one output without a separate mixer.
- 70V, 100V, and low-impedance outputs: wire long distributed speaker lines or direct 4 and 8 ohm loads.
- Full-range 20 Hz to 20 kHz response at a low 0.5 percent THD for clean music and speech.
- USB and Ethernet connectivity, in a rack-mountable chassis with mounting hardware included.
70V, 100V, or low impedance: which output do you use?
For most commercial installs that spread speakers across a large area, the 70V or 100V constant-voltage outputs let you daisy-chain many speakers on a single wire run with minimal loss. For a smaller setup with a few speakers close by, the low-impedance 4 or 8 ohm outputs work like a traditional amplifier. The VMA1240 supports all three, so the same unit fits a distributed paging system or a compact background-music zone.
