3-Meter QSFP28 Direct Attach Copper Cable for 100G and 40G Switch-to-Switch Connections
The Ubiquiti UACC-DAC-QSFP28-3M is a 3-meter (9.8 ft) QSFP28 direct attach copper cable delivering up to 100 Gbps throughput between switches with QSFP28 ports. Backwards compatible with QSFP+ interfaces at 40 Gbps, the cable provides a low-latency, passive copper connection for same-rack and adjacent-rack switch interconnects. Built for high-bandwidth uplinks between UniFi Pro Max aggregation switches and other 100G-capable networking equipment.
DAC cables provide the lowest-latency, lowest-cost method for short-range high-speed switch interconnects. The passive copper design requires no power and introduces no signal processing delay, making it the preferred choice over optical transceivers for connections under 3 meters. The QSFP28 form factor supports both 100GbE and 40GbE link rates, so the same cable works as infrastructure upgrades from 40G to 100G switching.
Where the UACC-DAC-QSFP28-3M Fits
- 100G switch-to-switch uplinks where two QSFP28-equipped switches in the same rack or adjacent racks need maximum bandwidth interconnect at the lowest possible latency
- Aggregation layer connections where a core or aggregation switch connects to access-layer switches via 100G QSFP28 ports for high-throughput backhaul
- 40G to 100G migration where the QSFP28/QSFP+ backwards compatibility allows deploying the cable at 40G today and upgrading to 100G when both switches support it
What the UACC-DAC-QSFP28-3M Delivers
- 100/40 Gbps data rate: Full 100G throughput over QSFP28 ports, with backwards compatibility to 40G on QSFP+ interfaces. Single cable supports both speeds depending on the connected hardware.
- 3-meter passive copper: 3-meter (9.8 ft) reach covers same-rack and adjacent-rack connections. Passive design means zero power consumption and zero signal processing latency.
- QSFP28 connectors on both ends: Pre-terminated QSFP28 plugs connect directly to QSFP28 and QSFP+ switch ports. No separate transceivers required.
- 30 AWG copper, black PVC jacket: Thin 30 AWG conductors keep the cable flexible for routing in dense rack environments. PVC jacket provides durability for permanent installations.
