Convert Existing 2-Wire Cable Runs Into PoE Ethernet Without Pulling New Cable
The Ubiquiti PoE Over 2-Wire Retrofit Extender (UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire) converts existing 2-wire cable (alarm wire, telephone cable, bell wire) into a PoE Ethernet connection. Install one unit at the switch end and one at the device end, and the pair delivers data and PoE power over the existing 2-wire run that is already in the wall, eliminating the need to pull new Cat5e/6 cable.
This solves the retrofit problem in older buildings where pulling new Ethernet cable is expensive, destructive, or physically impossible. If there is already a 2-wire cable between two points (from an old alarm system, intercom, or telephone), the Retrofit Extender turns that into usable PoE Ethernet for a camera, access point, or access reader.
