Powder-Coated Steel Sunshield That Reduces Glare and Shields the UniFi Access Intercom from Direct Sun and Rain
The Ubiquiti UACC-Intercom-Sunshield is a dedicated hood accessory that mounts above the UniFi Access Intercom to block direct sunlight from hitting the 7-inch touchscreen and camera lens. In outdoor installations where the intercom faces south or west, sun glare makes the screen unreadable and washes out the camera image. The sunshield eliminates both issues while adding a layer of rain protection to the top of the unit.
Built from powder-coated galvanized steel, the sunshield matches the intercom's industrial finish and mounts cleanly to the same surface. It operates across the full temperature range of the intercom itself (-30 to 60 C) and adds no maintenance burden. For any outdoor UniFi Access Intercom installation exposed to direct sunlight, this is the accessory that keeps the screen visible and the camera image clear throughout the day.
Where the UACC-Intercom-Sunshield Fits
- South or west-facing building entries where afternoon sun hits the intercom screen directly, making it impossible for visitors to read prompts or see their own camera feed
- Uncovered outdoor installations where rain, snow, or debris would otherwise collect on the top of the intercom housing and potentially enter the unit over time
- Commercial building lobbies and gatehouse entries where the intercom needs to remain visible and functional regardless of the sun angle throughout business hours
What the UACC-Intercom-Sunshield Delivers
- Sun glare elimination: Overhanging hood blocks direct sunlight from reaching the touchscreen and camera lens. Keeps the display readable and camera image clear at all sun angles.
- Powder-coated galvanized steel: Durable corrosion-resistant construction that withstands years of outdoor exposure without peeling, fading, or rusting.
- Color-matched design: Black finish matches the UniFi Access Intercom housing for a clean, integrated appearance at the building entry point.
- Full temperature range: Operates from -30 to 60 C (-22 to 140 F), matching the intercom's own environmental rating for any climate zone.
