Plug-In WiFi 5 Mesh Extender That Adds Coverage to UniFi Networks Without Running a Single Cable
The Ubiquiti UniFi BeaconHD (UAP-BeaconHD) is a plug-in mesh WiFi extender that wirelessly connects to any existing UniFi access point to expand coverage into rooms and areas that the primary AP cannot reach. It plugs directly into a standard AC wall outlet, uses 802.11ac Wave 2 with 4x4 MU-MIMO on 5 GHz for its wireless mesh uplink, and broadcasts on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to client devices. No Ethernet cable, no PoE switch, no mounting hardware required.
The BeaconHD is the simplest way to extend a UniFi network into a dead zone. Unlike traditional UniFi APs that require a PoE Ethernet cable or at minimum a power source plus wireless mesh configuration, the BeaconHD plugs into a wall outlet and automatically meshes with the nearest UniFi AP. It is ideal for filling coverage gaps in residential deployments or small office spaces where running cable to a second AP is impractical. The 4x4 MU-MIMO radio provides a stronger mesh backhaul than 2x2 alternatives, which preserves more throughput for client devices after the mesh hop.
