Power Any UniFi 802.3af Device from a Single Outlet Without a PoE Switch

The Ubiquiti U-PoE is a 15W 802.3af PoE injector that delivers power and Gigabit data to a single UniFi device over one Ethernet cable. Plug the injector into a wall outlet, connect the data input to your switch or router, and run one cable to the access point or camera. No PoE switch required, no second power cable at the device.

This is the standard PoE injector Ubiquiti includes with most UniFi access points and lower-power devices. If the original was lost, if you are installing a used access point, or if you need a spare for a clean deployment, this is the direct replacement. 48V DC output at up to 320 mA with built-in surge and overcurrent protection.

Where the U-PoE Fits

  • Single-AP installations where a PoE switch is unnecessary and you just need one access point powered from a nearby outlet
  • Replacement or spare injector for any UniFi device that shipped with the U-PoE, including the U6 Lite, U6+, U6 Long-Range, and earlier UniFi APs
  • Small camera deployments powering one or two G5 Flex or G4 Instant cameras from individual injectors instead of running a PoE switch to the location

What the U-PoE Delivers

  • 15W 802.3af PoE: 48V DC output with up to 320 mA, enough for any standard UniFi AP or low-power PoE camera. Matches the injector included with most UniFi access points.
  • Gigabit data passthrough: RJ45 data input and PoE output both run at full Gigabit speed. No bottleneck between the switch and the powered device.
  • Surge and overcurrent protection: Built-in surge clamping, peak pulse, and overcurrent protection on the power path. Protects the connected device from electrical spikes.
  • Universal AC input: 120V or 230V AC input, works in any country without a voltage adapter.

Why Use a PoE Injector Instead of a PoE Switch?

A PoE switch powers multiple devices from one unit, but it is overkill when you only need one or two PoE endpoints. The U-PoE powers a single device directly from an outlet, costs a fraction of a PoE switch, and installs in seconds with no configuration. For one access point in a home office or a single camera in a hallway, an injector keeps the deployment simple and the cost low. If the deployment grows past three or four PoE devices, that is when a PoE switch starts making more sense.
