Extend Your Liebert GXT5 Runtime Through Longer Outages
When utility power drops, a Liebert GXT5 UPS runs on its own internal batteries for only a few minutes, enough for a clean shutdown but not enough to ride out a longer outage. The Vertiv Liebert GXT5-EBC48VRT2U external battery cabinet adds a bank of hot-swappable 48V lead-acid batteries in a 2U chassis, and you can add up to six additional cabinets to a single GXT5 for as much extended runtime as your critical load needs. It connects to the UPS through power and communication ports, auto-detects on connection, and uses external temperature-compensation sensors to help protect battery life. Ideal Deployments
This cabinet is matched to the Liebert GXT5 1500VA and 2000VA rack/tower online UPS (models GXT5-1500LVRT2UXL, GXT5-1500IRT2UXL, GXT5-2000LVRT2UXL, and GXT5-2000IRT2UXL), so it suits the same environments those systems protect: network and server closets, edge and IDF racks, medical and lab equipment, POS and retail back-office, and small data rooms where a few minutes of battery is not enough. Because it mounts in a 2U rack space or stands vertically as a tower, it drops into whatever footprint the UPS already uses, and adding cabinets later scales runtime without replacing the UPS.
