Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Lite WiFi 7 Access Point - Dual-Band Ceiling Mount for Homes and Small Offices
The Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Lite (U7-LITE-US) is a dual-band WiFi 7 access point designed for homes, apartments, and small offices that want WiFi 7 performance without the cost of a tri-band AP. Two radios on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz deliver up to 4.3 Gbps of combined throughput, with a 2.5 GbE uplink that keeps the wired backhaul ahead of the wireless speeds.
WiFi 7 on a dual-band AP means you still get the protocol improvements that matter most in everyday use: 4096-QAM encoding for higher per-channel throughput, OFDMA for efficient multi-client scheduling, and Multi-Link Operation across the two bands. What you trade versus the U7 Pro is the 6 GHz radio. If your client devices support 6 GHz and you need that interference-free band, the U7 Pro is the step up. If your devices are mostly 5 GHz clients today, the U7 Lite delivers WiFi 7 at a lower price point and lower power draw.
As part of the UniFi access point family, the U7 Lite is managed from the same UniFi Network console as every other UniFi device in the deployment with VLANs, guest networks, RADIUS, and seamless roaming across multiple APs.
Where the U7 Lite Fits
- Homes and apartments upgrading from WiFi 5 or WiFi 6 where one or two ceiling-mount APs cover the entire space and the 6 GHz band is not yet needed
- Small offices and retail spaces running 50-100 concurrent devices on a budget that does not justify a tri-band AP at every mount point
- Multi-AP UniFi deployments scaling on a budget where the U7 Lite handles standard-density zones and the U7 Pro covers high-density areas, all managed from the same console
Inside the U7 Lite
- Dual-band WiFi 7: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios running simultaneously, combined max rate 4.3 Gbps. WiFi 7 features including 4096-QAM, OFDMA, and Multi-Link Operation are all active on both bands.
- 2.5 GbE uplink: The single RJ45 port runs at 2.5 Gbps, so the wired backhaul does not bottleneck the radio. A 1 GbE uplink on a WiFi 7 AP would cap throughput below what the radio can deliver.
- 13W PoE, no PoE+ required: Powered by standard 802.3af PoE at just 13W, which means any PoE switch in the UniFi lineup (or any third-party 802.3af switch) can power it without needing PoE+ ports.
- MU-MIMO across both bands: Multi-User MIMO lets the AP serve multiple clients simultaneously rather than one at a time, which matters as device count grows.
- UniFi Network managed: Adopt it in the UniFi console and configure VLANs, guest networks, RADIUS, captive portals, and roaming across multiple APs from the same dashboard as your switches and gateways.
